Jessica Nilles Joining Fireside Farm as New Assistant Trainer
August 20, 2018
Fireside Farm is proud to announce Jessica Nilles will be joining the Fireside team as Patti's assistant trainer. We are lucky to have her as she is an accomplished professional on and off the horse with a National title and practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy.
As a rider Jessica has schooled through the Grand Prix and competed through Intermediare I. Her most notable achievements are: USDF Reserve Champion Intermediate I at Nationals 2016, and USDF Grand Champion Intermediare I at Region 2 Championships 2017 (decided not to compete at Nationals). Jessica has worked with a variety of training horses ranging from; a young horse's very first ride to teaching flying changes. Additionally, she is schooling her horse Wish in the Grand Prix movements with hopes of competing him at Intermediate II and eventually Grand Prix in the future. Look for Jessica at the 2018 Regionals as she competes for Fireside.
As a Physical Therapist Jessica earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Marquette University. She is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Jessica's riding knowledge offers the unique ability to assist riders in diagnosing position weakness and crookedness issues by doing a strength analysis on the ground.
Jessica's list of talents and skills are endless. She is a valuable asset to our team and we are beyond thankful to have her as most importantly she is a kind, positive, encouraging person. She will be assisting Patti with her training horses and overseeing the training at Fireside over the winter months.
If you would like to join the Fireside family please feel free to contact Patti or Jessica for more information. Jessica will be available for lessons at Fireside and the surrounding area. She is also available for Rider Position Analysis. Cost for the Physical Therapy session is $95.

USEF Devlopment Program with Debbie McDonald proves great experience
October 14, 2017
After taking Reserve Champion in the Developing Grand Prix competition Patti and Freedom earned an invitation to Gladstone, New Jersey to take part in the developmental program headed by Olympian Debbie McDonald and Charlotte Bredahl. The 4 day program consisted of 9 riders ranging from training level to the Grand Prix. Patti and Freedom were 1 of 2 pairs performing at the Grand Prix level.
The experience offered feedback on future goals for the Fireside Farm pair. They received feedback by a physio focusing on rider position, sports psychologist, ride-a-test feedback, all leading up to clinic session with Debbie McDonald herself on the last day. As always we are glad to have Patti and Freedom back, but we couldn't be prouder of their participation in this hard earned opportunity.

Congratulations to Patti & Freedom on Reserve Champion at Markel/USEF Developing Horse Grand Prix
8/27/2017
Anne Ramsay's Freedom shinned with untapped potential this weekend in the Markel Developing Grand Prix. Each contender must participate in a minimum of 3 Developing classes over the year with their top 2 scores considered for their ranking in the prestigious competition. The top 15 horses then go on to the championship competition, which put Patti and Freedom ranked #1 going in. This national competition annually attracts the top trainers across the country with prospective up and coming mounts talented enough to potentially shine in international competition.
The championship takes the score from an Intermediare I test and Developing Grand Prix test and averages them. Patti and Freedom received the highest score during the Developing Grand Prix. She is beyond proud of Freedom's performance and was even more delighted to share the experience with his owner Anne Ramsay.
